The Plan
The short answer to "What is your plan?" is to stay in Fort Collins as Beck joins the Residency Program at The Crossing Church for two years.
Beck joined the Pastors Leadership Institute (PLI), a pastoral training, offered by Crossway Network in May of 2021 as his first step in the door with pursuing Ministry through the Network. Through that decision, the Lord spoke and made it very clear for us to take a step away from current endeavors and pursue full-time Ministry again.
When we found our church home at The Crossing, we fell in love with the Network and it's plan to help church planters. It took awhile for this call to Ministry to return to BOTH of our hearts but when it did, we knew we had to step into what God was calling us to.
The long answer: We have divided our time into three focus areas during this time in the Residency Program:
Showing the congregation and the community, the fruit of ministry. Beck is building a High School Student Ministry, a College Student Ministry and leading a Life Group (small group within The Crossing).
Leadership training and development. Regardless of Beck's ministry experience, there is still much to learn. Beck is devoting time to his studies with PLI, honing his skills in theology, church history and reformed doctrine.
Church plant preparation. We hope to plant with a group of likeminded families that have a passion for the Gospel and believe in the value of the local church. We don't know exactly who those people are (though we have a few ideas-- wink wink, you know who you are) but we believe God knows and is preparing these families to be apart of this church to be. Spending time finding these families and then spending time getting on the same page, and heading in the same direction at the same pace is going to be key to a good launch. Not to mention, we will both go through an assessment process with the network that will bring clarity to our leadership strengths and weaknesses.
In the end, we know that God has a purpose and is in control. When the Lord impresses on our heart to plant, or move, or stay, or go - We will listen. In the meantime, we plan to build God's Kingdom right where we are at until He calls us elsewhere.
