FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Where will you be doing ministry?
We are staying in Fort Collins! The Lord called us to The Crossing in January of 2019 and we have called it our church home since. If all goes as planned, we would like to plant in 2024 and are open to wherever the Lord might lead.
When can we start giving?
NOW! Our giving link is live, you can find it HERE. Within the link you can commit to giving but control what day in the future you support will be drawn from your account.
i.e You can sigh up to support today for say $250 dollars a month but not start giving until January 5th.
You can also start or stop payment at any time.
What communication can I expect after supporting you?
This website and social media will be our main source of mass communication. You can expect updates along the way if you choose to join our Support Team with a quarterly mailed newsletter. The best way to follow along on social media is to follow our Instagram account: @beckandlindsey
Why don't you just go and plant a church on your own?
Starting (the churchy term is planting) a church is really hard. 2.7 million people are expected to leave the church this year in America alone. Not to mention the 37,000 that are expected to shut their doors in the next ten years. Setting out on your own only makes the very difficult even more so. The Crossway Network has twenty churches around the world who are committed not only to preaching the Gospel, but to supporting each network church with any challenge that they face. In today's cultural climate, we are sure that the Gospel must be advanced by the planting of new vibrant churches and that planting a church on your own is a bad idea.
Do I have to give monthly?
No. You can give a one time gift, or in any frequency that works with you. You can even give a "matching" gift where you commit to matching up to a certain amount. You can even start your giving now (hint hint) by clicking the "Give Now!" button below.
Why can't the church just pay you themselves?
The Crossing and the Network are paying us to jump into this residency. This is a successful and stable church that has three full time pastors and a handful of part-time leaders. The reality is, the church should not measure its effectiveness by the size of its budget. Studies show that the most effective Gospel spreading churches are under 250 members. Churches always have to balance the tension between growing in numbers and sending out new churches. We are raising support in addition to the pay that the church and network is providing.
Is my support tax-deductible?
Yes! You will receive a letter from our Church at the end of the calendar year.
What are you do during your Residency?
Beck is expected to complete the following items during his residency:
Launch, sustain, grow and hand-off a ministry. High School and College ministries in Beck's case.
Engage in being coached and coaching others.
Experience leading and serving in multiple areas.
Be an active ministry participant in the local church.
Engage in the community and display competency in outreach.
Go through Pastors and Leadership Institute.
Residents will come under the guidance and coaching of the pastoral team, and participate in pastor meetings.
Annual assessment and report to the Western Region including specific church plant assessment, gifting, and plans for future leadership.
Upon completion of the residency, the resident should not assume that employment with the local church is their next step. Instead, the goal is to raise up and send out planters with adequate support from both the local church and the Crossway region they are a part of.
